Sunday, September 18, 2022 – Race Recap for my Duathlon Race (Run, Bike, Run)
Distance – 2 mile run, 14 mile bike, 3.1 mile run (5k to finish off)
Time: 1:15 (Overall Top 10)
8th place overall / 6th for my division (out of 38)

Feelings leading into the race – This race was one week after my 1st place win at the Hyannis II Triathlon. I was feeling a head cold going into this race. Therefore, I pretty much didn’t train that week, and made sure to take it easier.
Arriving – Weather temperature was perfect, with some strong winds near the ocean.
Start of the race – I came off faster than what I was preparing for my race strategy. First 2 miles I placed 3th out of the 77 racers.
Bike – Felt strong most of the ride. Difficult part was near mile 8 or 9. Very strong winds. Felt like I wasn’t moving forward. 10th out of 77.
Last 5k – My plan was to really push my strength on the last leg. Although, I was unable to keep the pace. After pushing hard on the bike to push against the strong winds (my legs were done)!
Made sure to push all I had left in the tank.
Overall fun race. Will be back next year 🙂
